Professional Journey

I started out as an emergency room technician where I was exposed to many different specialties within the medical community. At the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, MD, I worked as an RN in the Neuro/Multi-Trauma Intensive care unit for three years, and then the Organ Procurement/Transplant Coordinator which covered the state of Maryland. Along with my clinical responsibilities, I was also the organ donation educator for the state of Maryland.

My next position at the Cowley Center was in the Trauma Resuscitation Unit. Our four- to six-person team worked with severe trauma patients to stabilize and move them to the operating room or ICU.

After graduation from the Anesthesia School, Medical College of Virginia, I worked in a busy inner-city operating room with complex cases such as open heart, neuro, and pediatric. I moved to NH to do independent rural anesthesia care.

“When not with my patients, I enjoy… spending time with my family. We have fun doing just about anything outdoors: fly fishing, hiking, running, skiing — you name it, we’ll do it and have fun. My kids are young and watching them see and experience the world around them is truly awesome.”
