I began my professional journey 9 years ago when I started nursing school. I always knew that I wanted to help people, which sounds a little cliché, but I was always intrigued by medicine. Several of my family members are in the medical profession, and after talking to them about nursing, I knew that was the direction I wanted go. After about 2 years of nursing school, I knew I wanted to continue my education to become a nurse practitioner. After graduating, I began working as a nurse on a busy medical surgical floor. I worked there for 5 years as a charge nurse, preceptor, floor nurse and IV specialist while I was pursuing my graduate degree. I do miss bedside nursing, and am always humbled by how much people let you into their lives at their most vulnerable moments.
When not with my patients, I enjoy…
Spending time with my husband and two dogs, camping, skiing and traveling.
