I believe people have the ability to achieve happiness and reduce suffering, but that lifestyle patterns, habitual ways of thinking and perceiving reality and how we judge ourselves often need to be assessed and improved upon. There are multiple resources we may use and we are all challenged to use them.
I began working in 1965 in a large state mental institution. I began to see that “we are all in this together.” This directed my path as I grew through the Navy, college study, life and work experience. I have family, spouse, the VA and many people to be grateful to, not to mention Providence itself. I plan no early retirement.
I have worked in several areas; I am active in veteran’s affairs, the elderly and persons in recovery. This is not to exclude many other areas such as mindful living and awareness.
